Rathmines Pool to Open on 27th September

The new Rathmines Leisure Centre, including gym and swimming pool, will be fully open to the public from Monday 27th September onwards.

This is great news, and an excellent development for the village and the surrounding areas.

For more information on the facilities and prices, please see this leaflet (pdf).

Why are the prices so high? Municipal pools in other European capitals, also run by operating companies set up by local authorities, can offer a casual swim for between 3.00 and 4.50 euro. Medium- and long-term subscriptions are also about half what DCC or DLR seem to think is reasonable. What are our local authorities thinking? Is no-one listening to Christoph Mueller when he says the cost of living in Ireland is a problem?
