Need for Public Information Meetings

Arising from the meeting last night in the RDS on the City Development Plan and as promised, I have tabled the following Emergency Motion for the next meeting of the South East Area Committee.  I believe it encapsulates the request and intention of those present.  It is also something that I would like to see become a regular part of the Dublin City Council calandar.

Emergency Motion for South East Area Committee:

Arising from the clear demand at the Public Information Meeting in the RDS on March 3rd for an opportunity for citizens to engage in a real debate on issues pertaining to Local Government and Dublin City Council services, this Committee requests the Manager to organize a similar event in the form of a Panel Discussion with questions/contributions from the floor to the existing Councillors for the Pembroke -Rathmines ward with an Independent Chairperson during the month of April and similar ( if requested) for the South East Inner City area.
