Good News for Morehampton Lane

After many years of lobbying I am delighted to report that we have now secured €99,000 towards the reconstruction of the carriageway along Morehampton Lane, Donnybrook.

It is expected that the works will be carried out by April/May of next year but will definitely be undertaken during that year.

As the largest Party on the City Council the Labour Party was anxious to secure the best possible deal for the people of Dublin and all Labour Councillors endeavoured to secure various benefits for our areas also
through the City Council Budget.  Accordingly all our Labour Councillors supported the City Council Budget which included this provision.

Unfortunately both Fine Gael and their new Sinn Féin allies voted against this in what I can only say what a cynical act of opportunism.

Despite what have been savage cuts in funding for Local Government I will continue to seek ways to improve our area and the wider Dublin community.
