UCD & Jefferson Smurfit HQ Planning Application
True to form, as we approach the Christmas holidays, a planning application has been submitted for the UCD/Jefferson Smurfit (Smurfit Kappa) HQ site. The timing will pose difficulties for many residents, who will be short on time to respond appropriately.
However, you can be sure that I will make a comprehensive submission following a full analysis of the application. I would welcome your observations in order to help with this task.
Essentially, the application seeks permission for:
- 207 residential units ranging from 2 & 3 storey houses to apartments rising in height to 7 storeys – all with balconies/terraces;
- 2 office block buildings ranging in height from 2 to 7 storeys;
- a science and technology building of up to 7 storeys;
- a créche and concierge building;
- 624 parking spaces
- 474 bicycle spaces
- provision for two new vehicular accesses from Beaver Row, a new route through UCD and a variety of ancillary works.
