Scully’s Field, Milltown

The campaign to secure Scully’s Field as part of the Dodder Linear Park is ongoing and I have used every opportunity to continue to raise this at City Council level. Following the publication of new regulations about building on floodplains the City Manager has agreed to write to the Minister for the Environment seeking funds to acquire Scully’s Field.

If the Department can provide the funds to purchase we on the City Council will ensure funding to develop the park as appropriate. The combination of new regulations and the downturn in the construction sector can give us the leverage to acquire these lands once and for all if the Minister can be persuaded to provide the initial capital funds.
