Return to the Web

After too long away, I’ve finally managed to get the time to re-launch my website here at dermotlacey.ie.

2007 was an extraordinarily busy year with the General Election, when my friend and colleague Ruairi Quinn was returned to the Dáil as Labour Party TD for Dublin South East, keeping our minds elsewhere.

In the interim, we’ve had a boundary commission report.  The old Dublin South East wards of Pembroke, Rathmines and South East Inner City didn’t fit with the Minister’s specifications, so had to be redrawn.  The effect has been that the Pembroke and Rathmines Wards have been merged to for a new Pembroke-Rathmines Ward with six seats on Dublin City Council.  Northern Sandymount and Irishtown have been moved from that area into the South East Inner City to bring its compliment to four.

The result of all that is that I am now delighted to be representing areas such as Ranelagh, Rathgar, Rathmines, Terenure and Harold’s Cross.  I hope that I can serve them as well as I have served Donnybrook, Sandymount, Ballsbridge and Milltown to date.

Please bear with me and my web team as we try to bring things up to date.  We’ve tried to keep the older news and posts from the previous website, and I hope to add some of the press releases and news from the interim period.
