Speech at a Commemoration of Robert Emmet

I am an Irish Republican. It should not be necessary to say it – but it is – I am a Democratic Irish Republican. I believe in the principles of Republican Government in rule of law as determined democratically and at the lowest possible level. I am a citizen of this Republic of Ireland and [...]

Lacey Elected Chairperson of South Inner City Drugs Task Force

Local Labour Party Councillor and former Lord Mayor has recently been appointed Chairperson of the South Inner City Local Drugs Task Force. The South Inner City Task Force is one of 14 such Task Forces established by the Government as part of the National Drugs Strategy response. The Task Force area runs from Ringsend to [...]

This is a significant victory for the local community and is the second time that An Bord Pleanala has [...]

In the interim, [...]

Fire Brigade Access on Narrow Streets

I tabled the following question at tonight’s meeting of Dublin City Council.  Readers might be interested in the reply: Q10.     Councillor Dermot Lacey Legal parking at entrance to Durham Road from Newgrove Avenue now (particularly at night) means that a conventional Fire Brigade won’t get past as it’s too narrow. I’m sure this situation [...]
