Letter to the Editor – Excess Bus Fares

Madam, – In recent times I have noticed an increasing trend for Dublin Bus drivers not to issue refund tickets for overpayment.

Clearly the drivers don’t benefit from this as I know the money goes into locked safes. Clearly, too, passengers don’t benefit as they receive no money back. In the absence of a paper trail, we have no idea how much money is involved.

Dublin Bus is forever telling us what it does with the accounted refund income. My question is: what happens to the unaccounted income? – Yours, etc,

Cllr DERMOT LACEY, Beech Hill Drive, Dublin 4.
