He represents Donnybrook, Sandymount, Ranelagh, Rathmines, Rathgar, Milltown, Terenure, Harold's Cross and Ballsbridge. Dermot has been a member of Dublin City Council since 1993, and lives in Beech Hill, Donnybrook.

Madam, – In recent times I have noticed an increasing trend for Dublin Bus drivers not to issue refund tickets for overpayment.

Madam, – Kevin Myers makes much of the horrendous suffering experienced by innocent civilians and members of the security forces during the 1916 Easter Rising. In these more peaceful and democratic times it is a fair point to make.
