Letter to the Editor – Waiting for a Transport Policy that Works

Madam, – On the second day of the greatly hyped “Operation Freeflow”, seven empty buses, bearing the “Out of Service” sign, passed my bus stop as more than a dozen people waited in the cold. These were followed by a packed bus which could not accommodate most of those waiting. Real transport policy is not just needed for Christmas, it is an absolute requirement.

Unfortunately, Operation Freeflow, like Transport 21, is a mirage pretending action when inaction is the reality. – Yours, etc,

Cllr DERMOT LACEY, Beech Hill Drive, Donnybrook, Dublin 4.
