Letter to Editor – Martin Cullen

The Editor,
Letters page,
The Irish Times,
D’Olier Street,
Dublin 2.

Dear Editor,

Now that the enquiry into the, relatively unimportant, Monicagate saga has concluded could the real failures of Martin Cullen be addressed:

1) Why did he preside over the biggest housing crisis in the history of the State?
2) Why did he cost this country over €60 million in the e-voting fiasco?
3) Why did he abandon the direct elections of Mayors and Council chairpersons?
4) Why in a submission to Dublin City Council has he confirmed that a Dublin Land and Transportation Authority is no longer a priority. The list could go on.

Above all why does the Taoiseach retain this failed Minister and why does the Public Broadcasting Service – RTE continue to ignore the real issues. On second thoughts maybe it is not just Martin Cullen who should go.

Yours sincerely,

Councillor Dermot Lacey
